Middle of Nowhere
We built this space station before the planet died
Upon the revelation there’s nowhere left to hide
We torched the constellations and left them there to burn
The sun’s retaliation is to not let us return
So we flew away to a foreign star where we aren’t hated
Though we’ve run astray, knowing where we are is overrated
Life is sweet in the middle of nowhere
We had our fun now we gotta pay, the party’s done and we cannot stay
Life is sweet in the middle of nowhere
Don’t look down, but enjoy the view, it’s not home but it’ll have to do
Stripped of our pretensions we’re only dinosaurs
No divine intervention will change the asteroid’s course
It’s speeding out direction, so prayer’s a waste of breath
In this alternate dimension that’s neither life nor death
It’s a desert moon where the night and day have no distinction
The end is coming soon and we can’t delay our own extinction
We have made our bed in a great abyss, now we must face it
When we look ahead, there’s no more this, so let’s embrace it
