Cherry Blossom Season
For too long have we lingered and stared off into space
Time slipped through our fingers till there wasn’t any more to waste
Now we best be leaving, the party’s all but past
Don’t make a show of grieving, we always knew it couldn’t last
Although that dreams still fills our heads, we must accept that it is dead
While we curse every choice that led here
Cherry Blossom Season gets shorter every year
The blooms are barely here before they’re dying
Cherry Blossom Season speeds up with every hour
The funeral of each flower has got me crying
We’ll mourn our world forever while stranded on this star
But like most things it looks better when we view it from afar
So let’s sever our connection to the godforsaken Earth
The price of our affection is higher than it’s ever worth
So don’t consume yourself with dread, the ground’s behind, the sky’s ahead
It doesn’t matter now what led here
I hope that you could savor our home before it died
Now do yourself a favor and don’t wreck your short life with a long goodbye
In this abyss we made our bed, so what’s the use in seeing red?
There’s nothing but ourselves that led here
